Hey, that one is still a song! Thank you Google!
So this is the end. This will be my last post from overseas as I doubt very much I will get some computer access between now and reaching home.
I am sure that I will post once more for this trip and this blog will then remain dormant until the next time I need to flee whether that be to Spain, whether for good or for just a little bit. Only time will tell.
Thank you all for reading and commenting, whether those comments be on the site or actually to me or via others or whatever.
I hope you have enjoyed Elyse having be fleeing the country.
Today I pretty much finished the list for what I could do of which I add a hearty "Take that! Davey, Adam and those who added to it but I don't know which specifically because I am not that good and your name isn't at the top of the list!"
There are three that remain, two of which will be taken through other means, it is helpful to know people and the last will be the last of the list and will be taken tomorrow as I flee yet another country to return home.
Yes, home, not to my homeland. I can see where you can get confused. Though, if we go home is where the heart is then according to the song lyrics that will be San Francisco. This will teach me a valuable lesson about living my life through the lyrics of music.
As of now I'd like to bade a farewell to two items of clothing that won't be returning to Australia. That have made a noble sacrifice, so that others could see brighter places. Elyse's bag has mainly been packed or at least the one she thought she would struggle with. Elyse has spent too much time writing facebook status' and is now talking in the third person.
What of today?
The day that my readers will associate with yesterday. Timezones- like time travel, but not as cool as a TARDIS.
I saw lots of pirate things.
Boston and San Fran both have a lot of Pirate merch, yet the Pirates are in Pittsburgh!
Today I planned my great escape to Alcatraz! Did it happen?
No!
Tickets are hard to get buy and the ticket I bought last night doesn't actually stop at the island, so it was a cruise around the Bay. That was very pretty and it had a track to narrate it, Captain Nemo. From 2000 Leagues Under the Sea, not what Nemo the clown fish grew up to be. It was amusing.
So yeah, a cruise around the Bay, got to see the Golden Gate Bridge up close and went really, really close to Alcatraz. Apparently the tour is boring anyway and it is "just a building", which means that the place is poorly interpreted because Alcatraz isn't a piece of brilliant architecture it's significance and importance comes from the history behind it and more importantly it's geography giving it a hard place to access. That's what is interesting! The stories and the tour should convey that.
Oh, woah...
The tourism comes out sometimes in very strange places.
Ok, mainly in tourism places. I have a degree in this, I know what I'm talking about!
Though, let's move on to a very significant fact. Hey Megan, this is for you!
Alcatraz?
It has a longer Spanish name which means "Island of the Pelicans". Doubly painful for you!
Ha! Well, it amused me.
I wandered around Fisherman's Wharf, saw lots of crabs in the Fisherman's grotto, didn't get any of their wares though but I saw it!
I did get some crab cake sandwich on sourdough, it was good. I felt it was kind of San Fransiscian, according to spellcheck that isn't a word. Oh well.
Near Fisherman's Wharf there was a Wax Museum that I visited, it was odd. Wax figures are kind of creepy, but the big "60 Years in San Francisco" sign won me over. Oh, who am I kidding, the main reason was purely to get that last item on the list. A Celebrity doing something shamelessly. Done and dusted my friends, done and dusted!
They had a religions of the world section which funnily enough featured Jesus, that scene also featured a squirrel at Jesus' feet, which I am convinced isn't accurate but shows that even Jesus loves the squirrels.
Less squirrels but more oddities was Ripley's Believe it or Not. Strange place there, though they had a reworking of Vincent Van Gogh's self portrait made out of toast.
So, that was fun.
On the way home I saw a dude with a massive piece of cardboard that said "Gay Sex is a Sin... Repent" in massive writing with smaller writing about Jesus saving from lust and demonic something. He didn't yell, he just stood there with his sign. Odd place to protest and also, it was the gay sex, not the gayness that was the sin. Oh religious nuts... How quaint.
My bag full of what I have purchased has once again been rearranged to fit all my stuff.
Tomorrow it comes to an end.
It's been fun, but I miss my people, I miss my room, I miss not having to get dressed in the path room and not living from a bag! I will have a room to myself! I will be able to see the time without having to try and find my watch and I won't have to worry about all the noise I make! I can watch Dawson's Creek, I won't have to pay for the internet (Mum and Dad will, but shhh). Oh, to be home once more.
It is gonna be great!
One day more!
That's another song... just for the record.
She's leaving on a jet plane, knows when she'll be back again and you can read her tales from abroad.

I left my heart in San Francisco
I wonder how many songs actually feature San Francisco?
Thankfully, I should last through my adventure here.
So, San Fran, hey?
It's odd.
Last night I had a room to myself. It was great! So great! Oh, how I missed privacy! It did only last the one night, for when I returned to my room this evening there were people in there. Oh well, one night worked. Only 2 more sleeps til home time! Well, three if I can get to sleep on the plane.
But let us not talk of the future or the present, but the past or the recent past...
I started the day by making myself pancakes. They were delicious and it was amusing to see the instructions on the wall for those who had never made pancakes before. This hostel as an all you can make pancake breakfast. Thankfully pancakes is one of the three dishes I can make, pancakes, pasta and French Toast. I actually had two of those today! Though, I didn't make the pasta, I just ate it. For lunch!
I made the silliest packing decision. Oh, I won't need my sunglasses, It's going to be winter. That was a stupid move! STUPID! I was blinded by the sun today. My glasses do tint, but it is nothing! Nothing! I had to buy sunglasses and in traditional style they cost me $15. I really only need them to last 3 days, so if they are crap so be it. If they aren't they will be added to my sunglasses list which now consists of three pairs. Good times.
Weather was good, all that was required was a jacket, that is my kind of winter!
Today I mainly wandered the streets of San Francisco (That being the TV series with Michael Douglas... Another pop culture reference). I got very, very, very lost. See, this is what happens when you decide to head to a place called Sunnydale. Seriously, it was a place called Sunnydale!
That was very excited.
Ok, if no one understands that pop culture reference please say so now, upon my return you will be taught. Oh, you will be taught.
This was a bad move, and I decided this when it started to look very deserted and very dodgy, so I got in a taxi and headed in the right direction, which is easier to do once someone knows the right direction. The cabbie was the best cabbie ever, or more likely it is easier to try and extend the journey than drive around and hope some hails the journey, it's a money thing. So, I ended up going to the Golden Gate bridge as well. There was lots of fog, it was very pretty. I have photos! (Yes, Mary, you will be forced to sit through them well at the moment, you appear to be wanting to do it of your own free will. That's nice of you)
Eventually I ended up in Pier 39. I wandered. Mainly shops, they were fun shops. I bought shirts!
And don't worry Megan, the tradition lives on. Are you as excited as I am about that?
Things I also bought, I bought a keyring for Jose.
You know Jose right? Jose El Basso, bass extraordinaire!
It is for his case.
There was lots of wandering. My feet hurt.
I got my ticket for the Alcatraz Ferry, hopefully I can do that tomorrow and I'll explore Fisherman's Wharf and Pier 39 in the daylight. Pier 39 being famous for the Sea Lions or seals, whichever and they aren't good to see in the dark.
I got the Cable Car back home and stopped to look in at Borders on the corner. I now have my 2009 Calender, that's exciting and I bought a Word Nerd book, which is awesome.
Though, in Borders, I once again crossed paths with the pig catapult. Oh, pig catapult. I remember you and how you combined with Davey almost blinded me at 2005 State Mass. Yes, I still go on about it, I was traumatised! TRAUMATISED! (Pictures are available. Please enquire at the desk).
There was also a crazy cat lady action figure and a Jesus Action figure, I was thinking about getting that for my desk at work. Any one have any thoughts on that?
Hmmm...
Anyways, shopping is fun in San Fran.
Goodbye Elyse's money!

If you are going to San Franisco...
Hey, hey.
Comin' at ya from the West Side. Word. Of the USA.
I'm in San Fran as we speak!
I arrived this afternoon, after having to get up at 5am after going to bed at 2am. That isn't fun, but I did it and as a result actually got an excellent sleep on the plane. Woo for that! It was good especially since there was not the same entertainment levels of my trip over, then again I had a book and it is an awesome book. Wicked, if you were interested. I bought it the other day, it is Wicked and Son of a Witch in the one volume, leather bound and all that, it's very pretty and quite cheap so yay for that!
So another hostel, this one is a 4 to a room and I have a top bunk which sucks. I hate top bunks, it's only three nights so it should be alright because ya high ceilings! It is an important detail when on a top bunk.
Haven't really done much, I'm really quite tired so just have been sitting back and what not. I did head out to the pirate shop and it was awesome! Very, very awesome!
Not so much with the purchasing because it is a front for a writing and tutoring place, so it has some things and it is awesomely set up. It is very cool. I love the posters that around the place. Really great.
There I got my dude in an eye patch and the same dude with a cannon above his head. I believe a cannon is fricken heavy! So take that photo challenge!
You WILL be defeated. Mark my words!
I had dinner at some odd Belgian place, for the record- Yes, I did go there purely because it was Belgian.
Not so much for the adventuring, though I did see quite a lot of the Mission District, that was an interesting place but they had the pirate shop which was awesome! Seriously, AWESOME!
I have some photos. People will be forced to sit through them. Who is excited about that?
Nothing really to report.
Oh, my last night in New York!
Headed out to Chinatown, took a wrong turn and ended up in little Italy. Yeah, figure that one out. I had dinner out in Chinatown and who doesn't love an $8 meal?
That $8 meal was then dwarfed by the fact that while trying to find a subway I found a wooden door with a velvet rope. Who was I to resist to pose with a velvet rope?
I was getting ready to pose when the door mysteriously opened. Yes, it was a bar! A swanky New York Bar. It was both swanky and ridiculously expensive. Two drinks cost $23. Not cool, but amusing, it seemed full with many pretentious types which no signage and a velvet rope would indicate this would be the case so why I'm shocked I don't know.
It was interesting.
That was the last bar of the evening and then headed home to do some final packing before needing to get to the airport at 7am.
Nothing too exciting happening yet, but three days more.
The trip is winding up, hasn't seemed that too long ago that I was getting everything ready.
Time certainly does fly.
8 more to go on the photo challenge.
Take that!

Last Day in NYC
Yes, I am spending my last day in New York at my hostel, it's crazy I know!
But I'm going out tonight and if was anything like last night, I will get home some crazy hour and need to leave straight away to go to the airport.
So today, I am packing my bags and I need to some laundry and that is currently drying so I have internet time! Woo!
Some new people in my room today who are actually social! That's new. They were Portuguese. I am getting worse at picking accents or I just assume not-Aussies are German or French. This will one day get me in trouble.
After I finish packing my bags I need to go in the crazy chaos of Times Square, ok, Rockefeller Centre to get Cameron's things. Man, the hoards! THE HOARDS! Things I do for you Cammy, the things I do.
I believe everyone is dying to know what I have gotten up into the last couple of days?
There was a massive gap, I know, it was a little crazy.
I don't know if I mentioned that I went to a pub called Charley O's, it had a great recession special and the Bartender, Mike, was a lovely guy. Charley O's is also know as my local or my usual, I've been there twice. I was there again last night. For a long time, lovely bar keeps there. Mike and Derryn, both want to be actors and work bars til they get their big break.
See, New York is fun!
An amusing night at said bar. Plus, cheap drinks! Recession specials are awesome!
I also attacked a gingerbread house. I took off the door and was shocked to find there was no opening. Then realised just how insane I thought it would be for there to actually be an opening.
Yesterday, I also walked around Central Park, which is just such a pretty part of the world. It is so easy to forget you are in the middle of a massive city. I saw the John Lennon monument and I got my snow Angel in the park. You'll all be disappointed... and slightly amused. I know I am!
I loved in Strawberry Fields (Forever), which is the John Lennon memorial, there are all these benches that have been adopted by various people have little plaques. I love those little plaques and what people have written. Quite a few have John Lennon lyrics on there. I am pretty sure just John Lennon, not the Beatles.
Eventually I got to the Natuaral History Museum, that was awesome! And what was even better?
Megan, MEGAN, MEGAN! Guess what I found out?
They DO have pelicans in America! On the West Coast! Guess where I am gonna go tomorrow?
The West Coast!
YEAH! Take that! That tradition isn't going down without a fight! I also have a backup plan that is just as awesome.
My barter skills have gotten better, that is fun. I thought I was really bad at it, but I'm not! I've gotten set prices down cheaper. Oh, stalls on the side of the road, you are fun.
I also got to the Met on Christmas Eve, I'm really not into art and I couldn't find the armoury part and it was closing early so that sucked, but I went to the Met so that will add to my cred.
Christmas Eve around Times Square was a little crazy, but I called my family and talked to all of them and one of them needs to tell me who won trivia?
Seriously, Megan or Alex comment and let me know who won! I don't think Mum would know how to comment, so she gets a pass.
Christmas Day was fun, so Amanda is the random friend I made at Wall St, we go drinking at nights. It's fun and I have just lost all my non-drinking cred on this trip and somewhere I think some people are quite proud, anyways, we did the Christmas thing. We went round the corner to the grocery store and got some random things to eat for lunch, mainly appetisers stuff. Onion rings, fish fingers, buffulo wings and I got some cheese in a can and graham crackers. It is the graham crackers that are good, the cheese just contains some kind of addictive thing because I had way too much cheese in a can, but it was good.
There are also no bottle shops open on Christmas day, but thankfully, in America you can get beer at Supermarkets! So, there was beer! Really, really cheap. I got 64 ounces of beer for $7! That is cheap and a lot of beer! It was good.
It didn't seem like Christmas and I did miss the overly competitive game of Trivial Pursuit which is my favourite part of Christmas, but it was a good day. Just never believe that New York is the city that never sleeps because I could not find a pub open at 9.30pm on Christmas night. It was odd.
So tonight, is my last night in New York and it will be held downtown!
Then off to San Franisco.
It should be fun.

Hey John! The only Christmas card I have gotten was from Val, so I might ask and see if there is any more, hopefully there is something because yeah, last night!
Some people know the charging bull, others don't. It is one of those things. Who knows how it all works!
I have only 10 more in the photo challenge to go. Who thought I would ever get that far?

Merry Boxing Day!
So, it has been awhile since I have written, no rest for the wicked and all that.
Once again when I have actually been on the internet I have been distracted by various things. It is good times.
Just in response to the last post comments: Yes, I have an actually copy of the paper I was quoted in. I got the paper before I knew it was online, I didn't even find it online- that was all Kaylah! Go team Kaylah! (hey man, two shouts in two posts? Crazy).
I tried to mail it home but I found out I am incapable of knowing how the American Postal System works, so in my bag it remains.
What have I done in recent times?
I finally made it downtown! Yes, the song just came into my head. Curse you too much knowledge of music!
Though, I did have to go downtown (downtown- my back up vocals) to get the ferry, I didn't really explore.
I saw Ground Zero, that is just weird because I was at the Fireman Memorial which was kind of eerie or atleast I found it to be but not eerie in the sense it was all quiet because it wasn't there was lots of noise.
For one they have started a new tour in the place of the twin towers called "Freedom Tour", which some dude told me it would be 1776 feet high. 1776 being the year of the American Revolution and independence and what not. So Ground Zero, just one big construction zone.
I actually didn't realise where I was until I heard some guy yelling stuff about knowing the facts of September 11th and all that. I believe that is all that guy does. America is certainly a strange country.
I eventually found myself in the "World Finicial Centre", that wasn't exciting. I was looking for Wall St.
Wall St was surprisingly hard to find, I managed to work it out though, I got a photo of me with the charging bull (I tried to make a link to Wiki for the Charging Bull since no one knows what I'm talking about, but it didn't work so just google it.)
Just near the charging bull, there is the American Sporting Museum which I checked out, it filled me with both awe and weirded me out. They also had a video about how sports is so much more than competition but about communities and bringing people together which had clips of the Yankees winning in '01 and the New Orleans NFL team playing in the SuperDome or whatever it was after Hurricane Katrina, I only mention it because it is the only thing I remember with a lot of clarity because it was a very successful piece of propaganda, it was very good.
Lots of stuff on Baseball and Gridiron which I skipped because I didn't care and a fair bit on the Olympics, which I kind of cared but I realised I just mainly care about the Australian aspect of the Olympics, but it was interesting.
I then walked around and found the NY Stock Exchange all lit up for Christmas, I have pictures! I also got a photo of someone crying at Wall St! It wasn't even me, it was someone who worked on Wall St! I'm very proud.
So much of that list is completed I am up to 40! Yes, 40! I will update the list post after this so check it out!
At the Stock Exchange someone asked me if I was Aussie because of my scarf and thus I got into a random conversation, she was also Aussie from Melbourne and had been travelling for 5 and a half months. Interesting conversation. Since we were both travelling alone we agreed to do something together for Christmas, but yeah, just a random situation but hey I found a friend so go me!
While walking around Times Square, random people try to harass you to get you to do stuff and go to their things. When I say people, I mean legimate businesses, generally, on Christmas Eve I stopped to put my coat on and some guy asked if I wanted to buy marijuana. He actually said marijuana, which is kind of funny to me.
As a result I ended up with tickets to some kind of comedy show, which did look amusing and the guy was very funny, not the marijuana guy that was just a tangent, the legimate business people, the dude was funny he thought that we were Irish and then that Ireland and Australia were close enough to drive too.
There are many, many Irish pubs around Midtown and I have been to alot of them. On another note Recession specials are the best thing ever. I paid $5 for a tall glass just filled with all kinds of alcohol!
You know, my mum reads this quite a lot, she's a big fan, it occured to me today as I was writing her an email that I probably shouldn't discuss my drinking adventures but I really don't care and they aren't very exciting, I am impressed with my alcohol tolerance for someone who doesn't really drink. It's impressing.
So while I have drinking adventures, it doesn't end up with a drunk Elyse, just so you all know.
Time is runnign out and I have only recapped one day!
I really do go into much detail... Oh well!
Enjoy!

My claim to fame!
Today I was quoted in the NY Post. I have a link! Thanks Kaylah for finding the link!
I am quite fond of the quote, finer words have never been spoken!
Today, I was woken up my alarm as opposed to the fire alarm, this was a much better start to the day.
I headed down to Rockefeller Centre and grabbed my stand by ticket for Conan. Amazingly, I was there at 9.45am (they start giving away tickets at 9am) and I got ticket number 74, that's not the amazing part. The amazing part is that on Thursday when I got my ticket at 1pm, I was number 66. What the hell?
Tomorrow is the last show of the week and my last attempt and since when it come to things that involve luck I don't have much so doesn't look likely.
The main part of my day was spent at Liberty Island, home of the Statue of Liberty. It was cold, very, very cold. No snow or rain, it was just cold and the wind was particularly cold. I couldn't get into the Monument itself so I pretty much just the Statue of Liberty up close. I did find out that the Statue is made of copper and the green colour is just an oxiding process. That was new and makes a lot of sense but the green is what I'm used to.
There was some stuff about the symbols of the freedom and what not about what the statue stands for. There were the seven rays of the crown standing for the seven oceans and seven contenients, breaking free from the shackles of tyranny as well as the tablet marking the date of the American Independence.
There is something a little amusing about something breaking free from the shackles of tyranny requires to go through secruity to get to. I have something further to say on the topic but I won't put it down in writing for fear of other consquences.
I went to Ellias Island as well, the most interesting part was about the American immigration as a whole. I didn't find it all that interesting due to my lack of interest and well, a lot of it is about finding relatives that went through there. I don't have any and if I did I still wouldn't care. Will someone repeatidly tell Dad about my complete and utter lack of interest in where my family comes from!
The I went back to the Rockefeller Centre for no reason since I do remain having not seen Conan.
Talking about things I have no luck in, I finally snapped! Today was a very cold day, I once again waited outside for the Wicked ticket lottery. I didn't win. I just bought a ticket. It was a cancelled ticket for tonight's performance, it was just the regular price.
It was awesome!
Ok, I say that, because I did really enjoy it. Wicked is a favourite of mine, I do have a few issues with it and you'll read about them now!
This was the first time I had actually seen the show, but I'm very familar with the Original Cast Recording, as well as the book.
First things first, the book is very different from the musical. If I had to make a call, I'd say I like the book more. The book is really just fantastic.
It might also come down to it, that I'd take tragedy over the happy ending. Which is one of the points of difference.
I really do enjoy the book and in particular the ending, which isn't the same in the musical but it makes sense and both work for the scenarios that come before it.
Though, it is the ending with Elaphba losing everything, including her life that truly makes her beautifully tragic. The ulitmate underdog because she goes out with a fight and doesn't win.
Man, I do love that book.
That is always what comes to mind.
The other thing is that I am familiar with the Original Cast Recording which has Kristin Chenoworth and Idina Menzel, who are absolutely awesome. Really, absolutely awesome and I know that Glinda was written around Kristin Chenoworth and I think something were changed when Idina Menzel was cast and they are some big BIG shoes to fill! I mean metophorically because Kristin Chenoworth is a tiny person!
So knowing all that I was rather impressed with I forget their names, whoever play them now. One was the understudy which makes it harder to remember because her name wasn't everywhere.
Elaphba was played by Chelsea someone and Glinda was Ali someone, Chelsea someone was the U/s. Or was it Katie someone?
Hmm.. I really don't remember.
I was really impressed with Chelsea/Katie/whatever her name is during Defying Gravity, which is my favourite. It just gave me chills, it was spectacular. Of course it is the song before intermission so generally spectacular is the aim.
It was during No Good Deed where I really missed Idina, it was still good (specially coming from a non-singer), it just wasn't the same.
Man, to see the original cast? Now, that would be fricken awesome! BEYOND AWESOME!
I must say Glida is hilarious.
Very hilarious.
Side note: I thought they killed Dr Dillamont. They didn't. In the book they do, it is a big turning point in the book, but yeah, not in the musical. Shame, it makes much more sense with the murdered profosser. Think of what we have learnt from Cluedo!
I'm ridiculously happy that I saw Wicked on Broadway. It was pretty much my must see show and it was worth it.
Good times!
But alas, I must be off for Tomorrow awaits!
This is a note for Mum: I found a squirrel to bring home! It's very exciting!

Sunday, Bus-sy Sunday
I think I wrote about yesterday, so here it is for today.
I spent it on a bus.
I awoke this morning to the fire alarm going off and the sounds of sirens in the street. This time it woke me up, as opposed to the other day when I was just getting out of the shower.
Now, I woke up and grabbed my coat (which was a good move, leaving behind the bag with wallet and passport... bad move). My coat has attached to it my scarf and in the pockets are my gloves, beanie and camera.
So, if the place was on fire and I lost everything, I'd still have my camera full of wonderfully strange photos.
Ok, so I've grabbed my coat, my room was empty so I could not ask my neighbours what was happening, so I headed to the hallway. No one knew the haps, so we took the stairs down to the lobby and wear hearded outside. Thankfully not snowing, but it was raining. See, now this is the part where having my coat was fricken awesome. Others weren't so lucky. I saw a dude without shoes on and many people just in PJs. It was not funny. Out in the snow for two hours! TWO HOURS!
That's a long time.
Eventually they got a bus and hearded us on there, to keep warm you see. The buses have heaters and well, not covered in snow. It was win-win!
I made some friends on the bus. They were very entertaining.
I also made a video diary of the day. Thus far I've only watched the last part which is hilarious at least to me, others may just shake their heads in disguist.
The day was excellent for my budget! So yay for that!
We started a pool to see what time we were allowed in. I guess 6.30pm and we got in at 6pm, making me the closest and I won the pool! Of course it is just for bragging rights, but I'll take what I can get.
We got back to the hostel at 6pm, we left at 10am. That is 8 hours! 8 HOURS!
Though, we got food and Hot Chocolate and everyone was in good spirits so it could have been much worse.
There were many fire trucks and cops and ambos. All very dramatic.
The news folk came out as well, I got interviewed by NBC and a New York Post reporter. I think I disappointed the NBC Cameraman by not saying I was scarred by the entire event. I think I just said I was frustrated by not having been told anything.
I had just picked up some stuff on the streets.
So the official story.
There was a fire under the street and the smoke and everything got into the hostel and the Carbon Monoxide levels were way too high for people to still be there and not die. So they had to clear out the carbon monoxide so when we did come back in it was really cold from all the open windows and what not.
Though, some people had to be woken up by the fireman knocking on their doors and well, actually going into their rooms.
It was just the alarm that woke me, so no fireman story for me.
Other than seeing lots of them.
Everything nice and dramatic.
No one is hurt and I still have lots of time to see stuff.
I'll check out the NY Post tomorrow see if I'm in it.
That will be exciting!
Tomorrow will hopefully be adventures of my creating!

...are drifting away...
RE: Title. That's the next line of the song. I think, I could google it, but I'm not going to in conclusion, suck it up.
Last night was the Hockey!
It was fricken awesome!
Quite different from the Canadiens game, one the Canadiens game was sold out. The Devils game not so much of the crowd. It was very crappy weather, it really effected the trains.
There was also the lack of French and the fact I was sitting with someone who knew what was going on. That was great! Melissa, my tour guide of the Hockey, also used to be Sports Reporter so knows lots and lots about Hockey.
I finally proved that I am not a curse on teams I support, I was cheering for the Devils and they won 5-1. So, go team Devils!
Devils fans really hate the Rangers. It's quite funny.
Such an amusing group of fans.
We started off with all the loud and crazy fans. One dude had a cowbell, on his jersey (or "sweater" as the Hockey people call it apparently) was "Cowbell". Apparently his thing.
Hockey is really great. Love it!
I think I might work on not being a fake fan. Though, some dude asked me how the game went tonight. I have a Toronto Maple Leafs beanie (or toque as the Canadians say)and as a result a lot of people think I'm from Toronto, some even after I converse with them. The combined effort of the beanie and the Leafs playing tonight is the question. If anyone is curious they beat the Pittsburgh Penguins 7-3.
Today was much better weather, although I started late I headed down to lower Manhatten in the hopes of seeing the Statue of Liberty and going to Liberty Island. Unforuntely it was too late and I missed the last fairy to the island. It was really cold there though, really, really cold.
I got the Ferry over to Staten Island and then back, didn't really look at Staten Island, I think it's mainly just houses and it was getting quite late. Manhatten I'll wander around in the dark, Staten Island not so much.
I then went to my regular nightly activity, yes the Wicked Lottery, once again I didn't get tickets so I went to see 39 Steps instead.
That was hilarious!
It is the Hitchcock movie done with a cast of 4. Yes, 150 characters played by 4 characters. One of the guys in the cast just played the one character and most of the roles were played by two actors. Man, it was just absolutely hilarious.
I haven't seen the movie, but the guy next to me had and said they followed it quite well. Which doesn't shock me since most of the humour came from the fact it was all just done with 4 people and had no stage hands. It was really amusing.
Just how they worked going in cars and on a train. Very good.
Play not a musical.
Tomorrow, I just plan to wander. Don't know where I'll end up.
Depends on the weather I might see if I can get to Ellis Island and what not.
If not, I'll check out Ground Zero and Wall St.

These vagabond shoes...
Yo, yo, yo what is up?
I'm still in New York and will be for over a week.
In fact, today is the half way point of my little adventure but that is just a random fact.
Wednesday was a slow day and I could discuss in great detail in about a paragraph.
I headed off to try and get some tickets in the Wicked Lottery, once again I didn't get them (oh, my day will come, it will come) but on the way back I went to a shop and purchased some socks and a laundry bag.
For yes, Wednesday was the day I did my laundry!
Washing was done. 2 loads. MY ENTIRE BAG!
So now all my clothes are clean. It's a good feeling.
That was pretty much my day, I also watched some TV and internetted it up. I made friends with a Kiwi while bitching to the TV. Lovely guy, didn't see him again.
Thursday a lot more interesting things happened.
So, I woke up, had a shower and as I was leaving the bathroom heard this massive siren, I figured it was a siren going past. Oh, I was wrong. It was the fricken fire alarm!
We had no idea what was going on, but I had fun talking to the people in my room as a result. I made two videos of the event. One of them is dedicated to Sam and really, I mean directed at Sam. The other one is much funnier.
It wasn't a drill, there were fireman down on the street (that is mainly what the video is of, with some commentary by me).
I still have no idea where or what the fire was, if at all. So yeah, couldn't have been that bad!
Then onwards I went on my New York adventures. I was going to go out to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island, but the plan changed and once again I was hanging around Midtown, oh well it is an awesome place but still, there is more to the city!
But alas, that must wait for another day.
I went back to the Rockefeller Centre, the place where it kind of started. I did the NBC tour, I got to see the news room and the SNL studios, saw no one of note but saw a lot of the studios. I got a photo at the desk, purchased said photo and then lost it. Oh, annoying. Very annoying.
I got a stand by ticket for a filming of Late Night with Conan O'Brien, but I wasn't early enough to get it and didn't actually make it in to the studio. I am going to try again on Monday.
The NBC store is actually kind of cool, I was tossing up whether to get a Jerry Springer Security Shirt because that is funny, but they have a whole bunch of random stuff. It was great!
While waiting between the NBC tour and Late Night, I wandered around Rockfeller Plaza and found the FDNY fire safety place, I don't really know what it was, I know there was a fire truck a whole bunch of patches and available merch. It was cool. I sat in a fire truck!
Yay!
Yesterday, certainly was a fireman filled day.
For the record, Samantha Louise Giles Jones. STOP STARTING FIRES! Or atleast I need to break the connection. Or learn something new in sign language to tell people.
Oh, onwards!
Yesterday isn't finished!
I got my Toronto Maples Leafs jeresy (that isn't my mispelling) from the NHL store, this morning I found I could have gotten 15% off it but oh well, I have the jersey now.
Once again I tried for the Wicked Lottery, didn't get it. Went to see All My Sons instead. All My Sons you may recgonise as the play Katie Holmes is in. Katie Holmes, John Lithgow, Dianne Weist and the dude that played the brother in the season of Dexter.
It was good, Katie Holmes managed to hold her own against Dianne Weist and John Lithgow, but those two were absolutely fantastic.
The show is depressing, but it was good.
It also happened to be Katie Holmes birthday, so there was a cake and the crowd sang Happy Birthday. So yes, I have now sang happy birthday to Katie Holmes. That is weird. Tom Cruise wasn't there, but he did get a shout out in supplying the cake. John Lithgow did the shouting out.
Talking of Katie Holmes and more specifically Dawson's Creek. I think I also saw the dude that played Henry in the third season of Dawson's Creek. If not, his Doppleganger is very convincing.

Hi five with someone that looks important
A university that is a twin to UWS
I remember getting more things than that.
I'm getting the anthems tonight.
Oh, Photo Challenge. I shall beat you! Beat you good!
Oh, tonight! HOCKEY!
I meant to go on about what I did today. Yes, today was Grand Central Station day!
I spent most of the day there, but there was lots of snow and I was getting blinded as I walked.
Not so much the cold, purely the action of snow in my eye. Think of the song "Smoke in my Eyes". It's a jazz standard. Surely, you've heard it.
Oh curses to you.
Anyways, time go as my time is running out and I don't have my wallet it on me to add some.
This keyboard sucks and I miss my spellcheck.
'til next time!

Birthday in Boston- Fun with alliteration
Things I really should be doing right now, my washing. Seriously! So much washing needs to be done!
Oh, well, too late for that now.
My days are starting to over take my updating. Thankfully, I have a freakishly good memory and some what of an uneventful day so I should be able to do the catching up.
When did I last report?
Stowe has had much reporting, which is very amusing considering the thing I mainly remember is all the calls for Tequilla shots but that's another story. At this point I want to point out that yesterday I was speaking to Brother Goose and he was shocked to discovered that my facebook picture currently has me drinking a beer and then asked me "WWJD". I'd be more concerned with the fact that picture is of me stealing the beer, but once again, I think it is best not to to get into Elyse's drinking adventures which are rather mild when compared to pretty much everyone else.
But back to the important things!
The 15th was a freakish day in terms of the tour I was on, the 15th was the last night out as well as not only my birthday, but the birthday of Matty, another dude on the tour. So a big night was in order, it didn't happen but later!
I slept in because dude it was my birthday and I could, when I awoke, no one else was around so it was Elyse's solo adventure in Boston. Not that I minded, it meant I was the master of my own domain.
I wandered around, in fact I got quite lost. There are some great old buildings around the town.
It should be noted that I'm pretty sure Boston is America's oldest or atleast one of the oldest. Though, it might just be old British settled. I'm not really sure, but it is quite old being settled around 1630 and so there is much history around.
Many of the historical sites revolve around the War of Independence and a lot of the sites are joined in the "Freedom Trail" which starts in the Boston Commons (a big park in the middle of town) and is marked out with a red line marked on the sidewalk.
My aim all day was trying to do the Freedom Trail! I started and went to a number of the sites, and I was distracted by other things a long the way and didn't get to finish the Freedom trail, but it was interesting.
I learnt more about the Revolutionary War and the whole Boston Tea Party. I actually got me some Boston Tea. Excellent souviner there. Well, I think.
Then there was out to dinner at a place called the Cheesecake Factory, which has an awesome name and is really the only reason I mention it and then there was cake! I didn't know there was going to be cake but it was damn good.
Then there was the night out, it being a Monday night, there wasn't much of a night life. Even in a town with about 50 Colleges, it didn't help but that could have been effected by the upcoming finals. So, once again I piked early and then headed to bed.
On my waking up, I packed my bags and headed to New York. The end of the tour and the start of my real chance to explore NYC.
That kind of happened. I went uptown today. I had lunch at Tom's Restuarant. That would be the Seinfield Restaurant, if anyone was curious and then further uptown to explore Columbia University. Didn't really spend much time there, but I ticked another one off my list.
Then back to where I always end up in NYC, Times Square Theatre District. I missed the lottery for Wicked, so went to Avenue Q instead. Avenue Q was everything I expected and more! Very, very amusing.
For the record, yes I will try every day to get tickets to Wicked in the Lottery and if I don't succedd, I guess I will pay the much higher rate to get the tickets.
So, my wallet begs you, please send the good vibes my way!
Tonight, I also managed to go into the M&M store in Times Square. That place is crazy! Really, all the merchandise you think there is and then some! It is a little terrifying, but it's ok. I have pictures.
And some of the merch. The highlight- The M&M guitar. Yes, a guitar. An Electric guitar. Full size. I have pictures.
Not an action packed day today, but there is snow.
I'm hoping to explore probably Thursday. Tomorrow will be a slow day.
Grand Central Station is on the agenda. I'm excited about that one!

I paid extra money for this post!
Yes, you heard it here first.
I put it in an extra dollar to write this blog.
And since they take more than 10 minutes to write and I am talking to a few people it might be a quick one.
Have I talked about Stowe?
Well, summed up quickly- Snow, snow, snow, Ben and Jerry's tour, a brewery and lots of Karaoke! Stowe is a slow town, it's a snow town. The snow fields were closed before we got there.
And then Boston!
I've really enjoyed Boston.
Tonight is actually not only my birthday but the final night of the tour, tomorrow is the drive to NYC and it all ends. My plan for tomorrow is to do my laundry. Adventure city my friends. Adventure city!
Then again, that isn't Boston.
Best thing about Boston?
No snow! It hasn't been cold at all. Today I actually went Jacket less and fancy free!
Yesterday, headed off to Fenway Park. That is where the Boston Red Sox play out of. No Baseball, just did the tour.
The tour wasn't all that excited, a very passionate guide though. He was very funny, but there is a lot of construction and renovations happening there, so it was a lot about the history, which is interesting.
After the tour headed off to the Boston Red Sox store across the road. That was a terrifying experience. They had heaps and heaps of merchandise! All kinds of things!
EVERYTHING you could think of.
It's ok, I have photos. Well, more of a video with some social commentary.
I bought a 2007 World Series flag. It cost me $2. Ok, that's why I bought it.
Then walked around Boston some more with the evening spent at an Open Mic comedy night. That was an interesting experience, very hit and miss. Interesting night.
The building that the Comedy night was in was an old bank and it is now called a "eating and drinking exchange". That amused me, but the comedy part was in the actual vault. So a bit of quirky fun there.
Boston is the home of the Revoluntionary War aka the War of Independence, so much history and that is what I did for my birthday.
Squirrel watch continues. Saw some on the way to Fenway Garden. They kind of hop, it's interesting.
Elyse's Birthday Adventures continue in blog form next time.
I have a minute left and need to sign off!

I hate titles- Back in the US, Back in the USA!
Yesterday I talked to mum, she informs me that not only she reads my blog but my siblings do as well and as a result they just don't get my sophisicated humour.
Really, it's I hate titles, I hate subject lines. I really hate them and generally think of stupid things and it is best to ignore them. They are also based on injokes.
So, people stop freaking out.
In response to comments:
Chris- Shut up!
Lexi- I have it on my other blog, but I will transfer when I get some time.
I am now in Boston. It is also my Australian birthday, but I'll deal with that.
Some lovely reviews of the last couple of days.
Montreal featured lots of snow. Lots and lots of snow, it was also very cold.
Though, it did feature my bravest thing ever!
What was that?
I had waited a long time for my dinner to be delievered and finally I just couldn't hack it. I went down to the place, JACKETLESS!
So in just my three layers (basically three shirts) I walked OUTSIDE past 3 shops to get my dinner. It was -22, that is an impressive effort. If it was much longer I might have died.
For those curious, Montreal has lots of strip clubs.
Walking from the Hockey to some random club there were lots of strip clubs, so for those when in Montreal. Enjoy!
Highlight of Montreal was definitely the Hockey, it was the Montreal Canadiens vs the Tampa Bay Lightning. Tampa Bay won 3-1. In quite an upset. I didn't get my tickets with the others, I neogatied with a scalper to get cheaper tickets than from the Hostel. It was interesting because everyone around me spoke French and they were getting angry in French. But man, Hockey is fricken awesome!
I bought a flag. I feel dirty about it because they the arch nemisis of my Hockey team the Maple leafs (they come from my homeland after all- That being Toronto. You see).
Toronto has been in highlight, it's great.
After Montreal, it was Stowe.
Stowe has the Ben and Jerry's Factory. That is ice cream and delicious, lots of snow!
Delicous!
Stowe is also the snow capitial of Vermont. Not that impressive, so I didn't get to snow and mainly went to Karaoke. That was fun.
Also went to the Magic Hat Brewery which is the greatest name for a brewery ever! EVER!
Their beer was also good. Though, I did start drinking at about 11.30. Delicious, delicious beer.
Anyways, must be off!
About to go out and about in Boston!
Next time will feature Boston Adventures!
Cheers,
Elyse

Let is snow, let it snow
Montreal has lots and lots of snow. I have made up for the entire lack of snow.
This is a short one coz I have other stuff to do.
There is Hockey and lots and lots of French.
Oh, and snow! The Montreal Photos are really just Elyse`s adventures in snow.
I`m still alive.
Can whoever is reading this please give me a shoutout.
Cheers,
Elyse

Still in Toronto
Two posts in two days?
What is this crazyness?
Nothing that exciting, I just have lots of computer time!
And I must say Toronto Internet much cheaper than NYC computer time. What's the go with that?
So here I am.
First up: Elyse spotted a Canadian Squirrel today. No photos, but it was a dark brown as opposed to grey like the American ones.
It amuses me.
I started today with a sleep in, and that's always a plus. Though, kind of regretting it now because it means I didn't get to go to the Hockey Hall of Fame which would have been awesome. I could have seen the Stanley Cup!
But alas, not to be.
So started the day with a delicious breakfast at Tim Horton's, which is like the Canadian Starbucks or something like that. Though, I had a North American Biscuit. That wasn't good, it's like a scone but not as good.
Onwards than to the box office because tonight's plan was to catch some kind of show while others went to the Basketball. The origil plan was We Will Rock You til I saw the sign for Second City: Barack to the Future. Second City is a comedy group, the Toronto one is where Dan Aykroyd, John Belushi, Mike Myers and John Candy all their starts, there is more but come on 4 massive names right there.
That was hilarious! HILARIOUS!
Mainly skits and than an improv night afterwards. It was really, really amusing.
Also got some beer straight from the brewery. Mmmm.. fresh beer!
There was a tour and well, who cares about that?
I also finally got my glove mittens! Finally the easy of no gloves with the warm of the gloves. It's part of the key to layering and considering today's temperature was -4 degrees C, these things are important. I'm not dealing badly with the cold. It's true a good coat helps and damn my coat is awesome.
Oh, and the CN Tower! I went to the CN Tower, the world's tallest free standing building for the past 30 years, some building in Dubai is about to take over, but still. Very exciting. They have a glass floor up the top. Very, very creepy.
But the gift shopped help muchly in the continued journey of Elyse's photo challenge. I'm about half way done now. An impressive effort. For all those who didn't believe, take that!
'til next time!

What is this crazyness?
Nothing that exciting, I just have lots of computer time!
And I must say Toronto Internet much cheaper than NYC computer time. What's the go with that?
So here I am.

Back in the Homeland!
And of course I meahn Toronto Canada.
I have internet access again and I'm blogging because I tapped out of the pub crawl early tonight. The others are still out and a-boot town. Ha.
I'll stop that.
So, where have I been?
Yesterday was in Itacha, which is upstate New York. 'tis a college town with the college of note being Cornwell. I've heard of that onr with my pop culture references.
Itacha also featured some lovely wine tastings. I don't care much for wines, though I was considering getting some for Alex has his present but then I realised I have no idea the type of wine he drinks and all that, so poor Brother Goose remains wineless from Itacha. There was a store called Mother Goose. I was almost gonna get a picture, but I didn't.
Have I mentioned how damn awesome my new camera is?
It is! I love it! Thanks for those who helped me convince myself that's the one I needed it.
Ok, back to my adventures last night. It was a hotel room! It was great! A double bed to myself and non communal showers. Sometimes it's just the little things.
It also made up for the 20 minute walk in the snow home from the pub last night, after I lost spectactularly to the wolf man (who seems to beat me in everything. It's annoying)
The tour has been going great. There are 10 people in the group with 7 Aussies, 2 guys from the UK and a girl from Japan. Good mix. We are very amusing. On the bus rides the back seat bandits have been playing cards. It does make the trip go faster. Some interesting strategies happening.
But today! Today was action packed!
Today, I started the day with some Dunkin Donuts. With a delicous bagel and the worst hot chocolate in the history of the world. This was after the shop smelt so strongly of coffee... I hate that smell, but anyways, everything is so sweet. It's frustrating, but oh well.
Today, was Niagara falls!
NIAGARA FALLS!
IN THE SNOW!
Everything was covered in snow and just all white and when we got there it was raining so in the saturated person at Niagara falls that was me. I was absolutely soaked by the time I got back to the bus.
But man, they are very spectactular and just seeing all the mist rise from the river. It's very cool.
My favourite part was in the river there were trees/logs and they had fallen over and it had snow all on it and with the water going over it had frozen into icicles! Even has the massive river flowed down the falls, it still froze, but most of it wasn't frozen over.
Considering how many frozen lakes and rivers we went over the Niagara was impressive as well.
I have lots of photos.
Once again there was a squirell moment. It isn't just me fascinated with the squirrells Wolf man and Matty just as fascinated and they got way more pictures than me. But squirells are cool. They run in the snow and yeah, It's a novelty thing, by the end of this I'm sure I'll be very blase about squirells.
Another hour and a half in the bus, we were back in my homeland. The mighty land of Toronto, Ontario in Canada. Haven't seen much, just went out for dinner at a bier markt. Lots of Bier and then went out drinking, not me, I tapped out early and am doing the internet thing and then will go to bed for have a big day tomorrow. I believe there will be a visit to the laundry room! As well as to the CN Tower and the Hockey Hall of Fame.
Good times and then on to Montreal.
Onwards!

Day 3 in this hell hole
Hi Kids!
I'm back in front of a computer killing time, I also wanted to write today because I'm not sure when I'll next get computer access.
So, two action packed days! Man, what to say?
Mainly, it's cold. Very cold. Last night it snowed. I was very excited. I had got off the train and then snow was falling and I'm like "It's snowing", I actually said that and a random guy looked at me weird and was like "and...". Apparently not having seen snow makes me very, very odd.
Yesterday, I was meeting up with some friends of mine. They are awesome, awesome people and well, Buffy fans so what else could I expect?
I met up with someone in a lovely crowded area and then went to Central Park. THERE WERE SQUIRELLS! As a squirell ran past I said that and was then laughed at, apparently squirells are a very blase thing to Americans, but not to Tourists because we got some peanuts and fed them (it made more squirrells come) and lots of people got photos.
I also had some hot apple cider. That was good!
For those keeping count, I have somethings off my list now. Mainly a cab that isn't black. That was the primary reason for going to Central Park. Yes, Central Park is huge! If anyone was curious.
After Central Park, I took a walk down the centre of Capitialism- Fifth Avenue. So many massive, massive stores. Didn't go in, but I had Tiffany's pointed out and then explained that many people buy a croissent and put on little black dresses around Tiffany's.
5th Avenue was also awash with people. Many, many crowds.
I don't remember parts of things, so appologies.
I saw 30 Rock! I have the photo for Matt and Al. It was hard to get a good shot of all of the Rockfeller Centre, but I am going back in a little bit to do the NBC tour (which should be fricken awesome!). I did go to the Observation Deck which was cool. The Statue of Liberty from there is very small, but the view is amazing. Really, it's just amazing. My favourite part was "and over the river is New Jersey", it was kind of like "And a little bit further is Pennyslavnia and on the other side Virginia" (that part remain unspoken).
Really, it's amazing. I'm looking forward to going to the Empire State Building tonight, where the views will be just as good and as night. I do love the night cityscape of NYC.
There are heaps of stalls along the road selling stuff and a lot sell the pictures of the city scape and musical posters and what not. It is really cool. I'm thinking I might get one, or two. But we'll see.
I also did a tour of Radio City Music Hall, or whatever it is called, it is near Rockfeller Centre. It's the home of the Rockettes. That was an impressive tour, specially since when we were there they were doing a show of the Christmas Spectacular and got to see the Toy Soliders part which had been part of every Christmas Spectacular since the '30s, so that was impressive, but yeah, it was just a cool place.
Last night, I equalled the amount of American States I had been to to the amount of Australian states with my trip to New Jersey. I got the train, so that was fun. I bought a coat in a coat factory! It is great and warm. It was even tested for warmness not by me, so it will be good for a real winter. It was funny though with the testing.
I got the tour of New Jersey, that was fun. They have a massive mall.
Dinner was at a Colonial Prison! I was sold as soon as that was said. I got some fun American history. Lots of stuff about the Revolutionary wars. John Andre (who was a traitor and collaborated with Benedict Arnold) was tried and imprisioned in the place. The thing that was pointed out to me was there was a picture of John Andre in the place and the picture was upside down. Apparently, you don't hang pictures of traitors right way up and that picture was the original and has been hanging upside down since 1776. I was impressed with that.
Plus, dinner at a Colonial Prison!
I often wonder what people who listen to iPods on train are listening to, of course I never ask or anything like that, however last night some random did ask me. Very odd!
Today, oh! Today! Today was a marvelous day.
I went to a Broadway show! A BROADWAY SHOW!
I saw Chicago! ON BROADWAY! I know it's coming to Sydney next year, but well, Broadway! I got Rush tickets so cheap.
I was going to go to see Wicked and put my name in the lottery for the Rush tickets and I even made friends with another person by themselves to double our chances. It didn't work so well, so I went to Chicago instead.
Next time, I'll try for Wicked Tickets. Josephine told me that Tuesday and Thursday nights and Wednesday Maintnees are a bit quieter so that hopefully should work out well.
So yeah, I WENT TO BROADWAY! I'm very excited about this clearly.
While waiting to see Wicked I got my video of performing a scene from Wicked, so mark that off my list.
Ok, so here is what I have so far.
American Beer (lots of it, IN A PHARMACY!)
A sign with McKenzie in it
Performing a scene from Wicked
A Sesame St Character
The next act performing at Madison Square Garden... though, that is a stretch.
Can of Cheese (that was the first I got)
A yellow and green scarf
A photo of a cab in NYC that's not yellow
I think that's an impressive effort.
I was also very close to getting a big foot, but it wasn't there. Lissie was guttered.
Ok, kids. I must be off.
Take care and all that jazz!

Elyse is a part of it!
Hey, hey gang.
Have we all spread the news?
No?
Because I am now in New York City! Yes, this post is coming at ya from my hostel.
Just so everyone is clear, yes I am still alive. I survived my flight with no dramas. No dramas what so ever!
I survived and on the plane I got to watch lots of movies. It was great! The Tetris I was so looking forward to sucked. It was disappointing, so Davey should be informed that no, I am not seeing everything in blocks.
I saw the sights of LAX, that was fun. I purchased a lovely Hot Chocolate and because on the original flight I adjusted my watch to NYC time but went straight from the Time Zone setting on my iPod (it has world clocks. It's great!) and that doesn't take into effect Daylight savings or something because my watch was an hour fast and I was freaking ou that I would miss my connection flight so I threw out my drink so I could go through security and they weren't even boarding! Bad move McKenzie.
Oh well.
I am very proud of myself, I did not get in trouble with security (anywhere!) and was amused by the fact that in Australian Customs there was a sign that says that making jokes about Airport security and that kind of thing is punishible by law!
I always knew that one day being a smartarse would get me arrested. Thankfully, I was away from my bad influences (They know who they are... and if they don't, just ask me to name names!) and thus, no jokes were made.
Elyse's record remains in tact.
Second thing that amused me, one the Visa waiver form it asks if you are planning to commit illegal or immoral acts. If one was (for the record- not me) why would you tick yes?
Clearly, if one is going to break both laws and morals, then lying on the form not a big leap.
So, that was my flight journey.
Now for some random facts about New York:
Time Square is really, really bright. First shop I went into had no Dr Pepper (what the hell Chris, what the hell?), Honking is illegal, there are lots of horses around and I had another random fact that I now forgot.
One of the clicks of my bag broke. Not happy! It is actually the most imporant clip too! The strap around the waist that means the entire weight isn't carried on my shoulders. Not fricken happy!
I'll survive, I don't predict much carrying. That's not my scene.
That's all for this time.
Take care of yourselves and I'll see when I get time to post another one of my updates.
Just so we are clear- Yes, I'm still alive.

The intro post
I leave the country in 2 days.
In two days, I will be leaving the country! I shall no longer in the place I call home.
Customs will need to view my passport and all that.
But just because I am dreaming of one day being big on the internet and instead of emailing everyone all the time, I am creating this blog.
I may forget to update, some messages won't make sense and I really hope that I will be able to keep track of the photo challenge on here.
I'm still in the Land Down under, but I figure, I should start now and work from there.
Feel free to comment!
And if anyone wants me to add them to write for the blog, let me know!
Yes, I will accept other writers on "Elyse has Fled the Country" because that's just how I roll.
